Shout Little Lulu

This is the kind of mindless trance tune I love to play.

    Hello !
I’m a french-breton banjo player and your website is very helpful for me, great tunes !
a question about “shout Little Lulu ” playing : in measure 9 and 11, could you tell me which fingers to play on the right hand ?

    thanks a lot

Hi, I’m using my right thumb to play the open second string in those measures. If you’re not familiar with using your thumb on inner strings, you might look for YouTube videos on “drop-thumb” or “drop-thumbing.” Have fun!

Thanks for your fast answer !!!

yes i use to play double thumbing … but in these measures it seems you play “double thumbing” on the same string ? (2nd string)

thanks again, and excuse me for broken english …

OK, I see your confusion. On the second half of beat 3 in those measures, I sound the string with my thumb. On beat 4, I sound the same string with my frailing finger. It’s the same rhythmic pattern as drop-thumbing on any other string (I-T-I-T where I = index finger), but it seems weird because after the thumb, the I hits the same string. I hope that made sense.

    OK Thanks a lot !!!

I’ve tried to send an answer with tab in ASCII format, but no way … just to explain I’ve made a little modification to the original tune

    thanks again
